Penitential cross

The granite penitential cross dating from the 14th to 16th century is located in the center of the village. The residents paint it white each year. It is a rememberance of a medieval law, according to which convicted murderers were obliged to set up a stone cross at the site of their crime. The criminal funded the cross as a sign of repentance and a reparation symbol.
