St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception church in Karszów

Church

Information

  • Address: 57-100 Karszów
The Immaculate Conception Church was built at the end of the 13th century. It underwent reconstruction three centuries later. Having suffered damages in the WWII, the church was rebuilt in 1976. It is an east-facing church made of stone. The chancel is covered with a cross-ribbed vault. The entrance to the church is embellished with two Gothic stone portals. The cemetery on the premises contains an interesting neo-Gothic mausoleum from the second part of the 19th century. Unfortunately, it is not known to whom the mausoleum belonged because the sign with the names of the owners has not survived and all that remains is an empty space above the tomb's entrance. Today, the mausoleum is used as the cemetery's chapel.
