About project

The Cooperation Project “WROTA Regionu” [GATES of the Region] has created a website and an app for Android, iOS, and Windows phones. The website and the app are a guide that covers the region of three Local Activity Groups: Lider A4, Gromnik, and Ślężanie. These areas are found within the Dolnośląskie Voivodeship, which is south of Wrocław. Many points of interest from sixteen municipalities have been compiled into this guide. Among these are the Arboretum in Wojsławice, the Landscape Park of the Bystrzyca Valley, the palaces in Konary and Łojowice, the Museum of Carts and Carriages in Galowice, and many more.

The app and the website also contain information on bars, restaurants, accommodation, natural wonders, and sports and recreation centers. Each location is presented with a photo,  description, contact information and geographic coordinates, which make it easy to find it on the map. Using the app, you can also plan a route to a location using its GPS coordinates.

The app and the website also present forty five thematic routes, bicycle routes, and car routes. These will be immensely useful in helping you to explore the area. Users can decide whether they prefer visiting castles, palaces, historic churches, quarries, or natural wonders in the many parks and valleys. Each route contains a .gpx file, which allows you to see the entire route and the points of interest found along it.

The project also promotes interesting regional events and the best local products. Honeys, deli meats, and traditional breads are just some examples of products that the area is famous for.

An easy-to-use planner can be found in the website and in the app, and will make exploring the region easy. You can add and bookmark your favourite routes, events, and locations.

The website and the app, which are both aimed at tourists coming to visit this region, are available in Polish and English. The project is both a large database of the places worth visiting in the area, and a source of information about the region, its history, and its geography.

The Operation was Co-financed by The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development: Europe investing in rural areas as part of the rural development policy for the period 2007-2013 Axis 4 (Leader), whose purpose is to implement such cooperative projects.
