Information

  • Address: 57-130 Przeworno
The unusual local limestones were mined here as early as in the 14th century. This beautiful material is easy to work, thus it was frequently used in making fireplaces, stairs or tombstones. The best known example of an artifact carved in the Przeworno "marble" is the altar in the Wrocław cathedral. A cave was discovered in the mine, which contained 20 million years old remains of animals and insects.
